New MyCiTi bus route to create significant value for businesses

The MyCiTi Bus Service In Cape Town

A new MyCiti bus route known as the Lansdowne/Wetton corridor will potentially create significant value for both employees and employers. The new route will improve accessibility to quality transport for up to 35 communities and assist with urban regeneration, according to The City of Cape Town.

Currently, many commuters have to travel into Cape Town first and then make their way into the Southern Suburbs as there is no direct transport route. The city further claims that residents from Mitchell’s Plain and Khayelitsha are required to travel as much as 20 kilometers daily – resulting in a very lengthy daily commute.

The new route will offer these resident the direct access they require to the South-East quadrant of the city. There are also plans for red MyCiti bus lanes to run along the rail network to allow for right-of way – since other bus and taxi services currently compete for the same road space with private vehicles.

How businesses will benefit:

Baker Street Properties has strategically identified new industrial property opportunities in Lansdowne, Capricorn Park and Wetton who will all potentially benefit from the new MyCiti bus route:
